This is a traditional German wheat beer made using 60% German Wheat and 40% German Pilsner malt. The distinction is in the aroma and flavor clove / banana in the nose, slight sourness in the flavor. There are three versions of this weizen brewed yearly.

Draft at the original Tampa location. Hazy golden appearance with a light bubble gun, clove and wheat nose. The body of this Hefe is on the lighter side of medium with a lingering clove finish. Body displays a grainy texture as well. Not bad would fair well in humid weather.

Sample at the brewpub. Hazy pale golden color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly to a film. Spotty lacing. Aroma of banana, wheat and slight spice. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal wheat, bananas and pale malt. The finish is fruity with a banana aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Draugh at the brewery on January 25, 2014.Cloudy golden color, white head. Banana taste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Banana scent. Sweet aftertaste.

A lightly hazed blonde weizen with a thin lacing white head. A light banana and lemon aroma, light and non-descript. In mouth, a typical weizen with light bananas and cloves, rather light but refreshing for the Florida heat. On tap at brewpub, May 24 2010.

Tap: Poured hazy yellow with a white colored head. Aroma is cloves, citrus, yeast, and banana fruit. Taste is heavy bread and wheat with a bitter banana and cloves finish.

Draft @ the brewpub during RBWG weekend. Pours cloudy dark golden color with white head. Aromas of banana, clove, wheat and bubble gum. Similar flavors with a hint of lemony sourness. Medium body with soft carbonation.

Tap @ TBBC Pours golden, some cloudiness and white head. Aroma and flavor, clove and some wheat. Some fruit; banana with some bitterness in the finish. The fruit flavor gives the beer an almost light sour feel, wheat mouthfeel in the finish. Drinkable and tasty, though a little different from usual Hefe.
