A hazed dark reddish amber DIPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, resinous hops and dank sulfur characters. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with dark fruits, pine needles, citrus pulp, resinous hops, very nice and solid for a 10 year old beer.

Bottle. Hazy orange brown color, large fluffy white head. Aroma of moderate spice, orange peel and pine. Taste is spiced pumpernickel bread and a bit of citrus. Not bad.

Bottle. Pours clearish orange with off white head. Nose/taste of caramel malt, citrus, cumin, black pepper, ginger, clove and curry spices. The spices meld seamlessly into the brew and do not dominate the palate. Well balanced. Medium body.

Crisp, slightly hazy copper coloured body with a nice amber glow and a perfect, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pungent and strong spicey curry and cardamom with a bunch of squash, black pepper and even some peat in the mix - there is a lot going on, and more of it smells like food than beer - very nice! Medium to Full-bodied; Spicey flavour at first of the curry and cardamom with a big, dense malty flavour and a ton of large earthy hops, finished with a bitter piney hop flavour but really overshadowed by the spices - there are a ton in here. Overall, a very interesting beer that doesn’t disappoint. If you like spices and full beers, you will love this, however, if you’d rather have the two separate and prefer lighter beers, you won’t like this at all - but that said, you probably wouldn’t have bought it anyway! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from the Midnight Sun Brewpub in Anchorage, Alaska on 25-June-2011 sampled at home almost on the other end of the USA in Washington on 25-March-2012.

Bottle thanks to my friend Jamie: Poured a burnt orange with light white head. Aroma is sweet malts, coriander, and spice. Taste is harsh to the tongue with loads of pepper, spices, and hops. Light malts keep it somewhat balanced.

Bottle very kindly provided by Americanbrew (thanks again, Eric). Pours with a lightly hazed (lightly) amber-orange body with a large off-white head. Aromas of orange, sprite, ginger, allspice, curry, earthy, and cumin. Flavors are of ginger, VERY bitter, spicy, nutmeg, cumin, tumeric, bay leaves, grand masala. Lively bubbles, dry and odd. My main knock on this beer is that it is REALLY and not cohesively bitter.

Bottle at Maltzilla’s tasting. Pours clear amber color with off white head. Citrus and pine aromas with some corriander and cinnamon. Similar flavors. I was expecting more spiciness. Medium body with average carbonation.

Bottle from Grape Expectations, Anchorage. Clear amber/copper body, thin clumping beige head. Bready nose with alcohol, peach, fruit rind, and curry. Thin, bitter, spicy body with curry powder, citrus rind, anise, cumin, and breads, vegetal with a lasting bitter spicy, resinous finish. Not particularly enjoyable.
