Aroma of banana and cloves, some Belgian yeast strain. Pours a clear yellow into the tulip glass. Taste is similar to the aroma except that there is way too much malted sugars here, cloying sweetness. Finish is fairly dry but again, the sugars overwhelm the yeast here, not very appetizing.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage Center, Albany, NY. Typical cloudy gold with a thin ring of white head without much retention. Nose is dried fruit, candy sugar and Belgian yeast. Fruit notes. Taste is similar to the nose, dried peaches, banana notes. Apricot hints. Body is grainy with a moderate malt profile. Sugary sweetness and covers any alcohol flavor. Dry texture. Overall good example of the style.

At a tasting, thanks Yoav, a touch hazy light orange colour, aroma of popcorn, peanuts and hay, sweet candy jammy flavour and a coarse bitterness, much too sweet and unbalanced. One dimensional and uninteresting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Yoav. Hazy golden. Yeasty and slightly spicy aroma with a bit of fruity esters. Spicy and yeasty flavor, somewhat sweet, with a bit of fruitiness and a slightly bitter finish. Medium-bodied.

Has some nice hops. Pours clear orange with good head and lacing. Foamy head. Has citrus and some malt in the aroma. Almost more like a session IPA than a tripel. Finishes a little sour, a little sweet but more light sourness than anything. Average carbonation. Bottle.

Nice rich bronze coloured body with a copper glow and a thick dense tan head. Aroma of yeast, coriander seed and a bit of apples and pear sweetness. Medium-bodied; Strong yeast flavour with bits of wheat, coriander seed and some light hay and grassy hop flavours with some pleasant light sweetness. Aftertaste is nice and light for a tripel, but showing good wheat and yeast flavours with some mild sweetness. Overall, a nice lighter tripel but also with some good complexity - nice to sample, even though this beer is from the Mainland! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from La Bodega in Anchorage, Alaska for US$1.80 on 23-May-2013 sampled two days later in my hotel room here in Anchorage, Alaska on 25-May-2013.

Sample at the Pike Street location. The beer pours a hazy orange-gold color with a medium white head that evaporates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, yeast and citrus. Medium body with flavors of citrus, earthy yeast and malt. The finish is fruity with a yeast and banana aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bomber from Harry & Davids in Medford, OR. Pours light orange gold with a foamy white head - but not much of a head. Aroma is lightly cooked caramel with some yeast/spice notes. There’s more than that, but hard to describe. Full bodied. There’s a lot of yeast/spice, but also there seems to be a lot of noble hop - not grass - more herb. The alcohol is detectable - seems to make figuring out the flavors difficult. Otherwise it’s ok. Finally it seems to go into light pitted fruit, kandi, and yeast/spice. Ending moderately peppery with all the other stuff. Extremely enjoyable.
