Produite au Burundi depuis 1955, Primus est la bière emblématique de la Brarudi mais aussi du Burundi.
Elle se boit entre amis pour fêter la joie et le plaisir de passer de bons moments ensemble!
Bière blonde au goût de houblon et de malt, elle doit sa finesse et sa légèreté à un savoir faire de toujours.
Primus est disponible en bouteilles de 72cl et également en fûts pression.

One of the fixed beers from the leading brewery in Burundi in central Africa, apparently in existence since 1955 already. Thanks to tderoeck for the sample. Normally producing a frothy snow white head, but this old sample had no more head formation capacities left; pale golden robe with rosy tinge. Aroma of cooked courgette, sandwiches, ripe pear, rice pudding, grass. Sweetish onset, cooked rice-like, cereally, thin with sourish and metallic edges - quite unpleasant to be fair, with nothing happening further on except from an apple-ish oxidation note. Typically bland, sickly sweetish, unpleasant African pale lager, but I guess it was a bit more digestible when fresh.

Sampled at Tim's place, huge thanks! Clear pale yellow color, very small white lacing. Aroma is oddly somewhat pear-ish. Flavor is weak malty and softly dusty with hints of apple or pear. Weird.

Sample @ Tim's place, Gent. Country no. 184 🇧🇮. Pours gold. Significantly oxidised, cardboard, pale malt, adjunct. It is what it is. Rated kindly.

New Country. 500ml bottle. Piana sporawa nawet zadziwiajaco trwala, zlociste jaskrawe ale lekko metne, lekki osadek na dnie. Ale nie przeszkadzalo bo i tak calosci nie zamierzalem wypijac bo i tak zbyt wiele mam do zrobienia dzisiejszego dnia z innymi piwami. Chmielnosc niezbyt zaznaczona, lekko kukurydziane i slodowe.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 72cl bottle pours a clear gold with a spitty white head. Nose is wet bread, light malt, light yeast. Flavor is flat malts, white flour, a little mint. Watery finish.

Bottle courtesy of Jeremy, thanks! Very pale yellow. Aroma of white pepper and subtle and understate formaldehyde. Taste is lemonade and light pepper. Tolerable.

Bottled. Pale yellow, rich airyhead. Sweet sorn aroma. Despite it’s fairly low gravity the alcohol manages to shine through the bland mix of corn and water. I sense no hops nor bitterness. Pretty much what I expected it to be...
