This wily red IPA gets its character from the Tasmanian hops that are full of grapefruit, pine and earthy notes creating a bold flavor that threads throughout the taste. The hops are balanced by a core of roasty malts that give this brew body and richness with hints of toffee. This flavorful brew is rounded and smooth with a dry and citrusy hop finish.

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey during the Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru Launch Party. Clear ruby to dark amber with off-white head. Aromas of spices and what seems like pumpkin. Tastes of spices, light pumpkin, light toasty notes, hops are very low. Medium body with a dry finish.

12 oz bottle with a July, 2014 best by date. Aroma is spicy with with a moderate toasted bread character and some caramel and nuts. Medium light herbal and floral hop notes with some pine resin and a hint of citrus. Faint alcohol spice. Pours a cloudy, dark red, almost burnt amber with a moderately sized, medium thick tan head that shows average retention. Moderate lacing and small legs. Flavor has a light sweetness with moderate toasted bread and some caramel notes as well as some toffee. Moderate bitterness with medium light hop character. Hop flavors are a blend of citrus and tropical fruit with a bit of pine resin and dank earthy notes. Light alcohol spice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer with a nice malt character upfront but the finish isn?t as nice. Hop character isn?t as impressive as it could be but it works alright with malt notes.

Bottle from QClub on Jay's roof. Dark red pour with fluffy head. Piney juicy hops aroma. Taste is crisp piney hops with bitterness and a solid malty backbone. Pretty good IPA - especially for $25.

Big thanks to nike for this unrated beer. Funny how we call these brownish colored beers red, heheh. Big giant head like puffy rocky clouds. Taste is a malty brew mixed with IPA, more like a stronger brown or red ale in flavor. Probably one of the milder IPA I’ve tasted and I’m thankful for that. If this is close to 7%, it hides its alky content well. Smell is not really that of an IPA, more like a malted beer aroma. Decent co2 fer now. Ok, after the session continues, there is this ipa building sensation starting to rise in the back of my throat. Yes, each swig as I near the end of the bottle starts to have more and more IPA - ish things going on. However, never really rises to the impact of a full ipa. Probably could be in the red or brown ale category.

Reviewed from notes.
The appearance had a dark brown body and gives a thick foamy off-white head that leaves slightly thick lacing that evenutally spider webs and thins out after about a minute. The body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen.
The smell had a combination of caramel and malts with a slight presence of fig, slight hops try to stand up here and there.
The taste had a sweet malty presence surrounded with the fig, caramel and some slight hops try to stand up again but remain mostly subdued.
The palate was about a medium with a smooth creamy feel that comes out really easy on the tongue, sessionable.
Overall, I really like this. Since I’m a fan of browns and reds, I see some similarities from them fused into this brew. The IPA qualities that come out show the complexity of this brew. No doubt I would get this again.

Good stuff. Deep hazy amber, tons of lacing in the creamy tan head. Aroma and flavors are a nice balanced mix of toffee and breaded malts, nice earthy hop finish drying out the mouth. Very nice beer!
