Draught at the brewery, most recently 1/11/16.
Crystal clarity and a bronze-golden body show very minimal carbonation and a small, flimsy, white head.
Very dry nectarine skins in the nose, with light vanilla, hint of floral character and plenty of various grain characteristics ranging from spiciness, bread, and earth to a light citrus character from the yeast. No alcohol noted, nor flaw.
Flavor shows breadiness up front, with light honey-vanilla sweetness. Some tartness perks up a bit, as floral, almost soapy notes enter the mix. Light sourdough, lemon juice and some softer honey notes finish the beer out, with various peppery phenols lingering. Didn’t realize this was Chouffe yeast (which I dislike) but I’m not so sold on it. Oxbow and Mystic are doing much better table beers, to name a few, but it’s certainly very competent yet. Just a bit too much bready sourdough, corn and vanilla, with some borderline soapy, perfume-like notes. Carbonation is gentle, no alcohol noted.

Draft at CBC. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is citrus fruit, herbs, straw and candied fruits. The taste is crisp, yeast, again herbs, minerals and light spice with a dry, crisp finish. Lighter in body and moderate carbonation level.

Overall pretty well made but the herbal hint kind of distracts me. It does have a nice classic, rustic character to it and it’s certainly easy to drink on a summer day.

A hazed yellow ale with a very thin white head. In aroma, a sweet malt with smooth incense notes, powdery and chalky. In mouth, a nice crisp sweet malt with white grapes, a bit light bodied. On tap at Belgian Beer Fest, Sept 10 2011.

Draft at Hill Farmstead. Cloudy yellow, massive off white head. Aroma of rising bread. Taste has decent sourness, but a bit plain. Medium body. Not bad.
