Notes from August 2009 What an awesomely weird beer to try. Thank you Max. Poured into my baby Duvel glass. Dirty wheat/amber color. Caked on white foam. Smell was orange juice, very mild spices, & a good bit of Theraflu. Taste was totally unexpected(as if anyone really knows what to expect with Fantome). Dusty Sweet Tarts candy, & an overwhelming amount of lemon in every dimension. Rindy oils, Lemonheads candy, lemon frosting, lemonade, & probably the biggest similarity, your favorite lemon-lime malt beverage/cooler. Not knocking it. Well, not totally. A little wheat, & some peppery bitterness, but so dominate in all things lemon. Amazingly, it wasn't but a touch tart &/or sour. Feel is a touch dusty, thin, but very well carbonated. Strange, but well received. I think.

Bottle @ Doodler. Thanks. Hazy orange appearance with a cream colored head. Very dusty, hay, a bit toasty aroma with some tangerine, caramel, and apricots. Very minty, spicy herbal flavor with some guava and tangerine. Kind if strange.

Bottles at Goblin Pub, shared with MrChopin +2. Nice combination of sweet fruit and sourness that balance each other. A winner.

Shared by Rastacouere at RBSG grand tasting. Rather like a kind of saison. Tangy, citrusy aroma, very cloudy, dark yellow, brownish yellow color. Very fruity, sour edge, a little bit of horse blanket, it’s very nice.

Shared by MaxPapi @ BCTC, thanks a lot. I will conceptualize this beer as Max prefaced it... LEMON. No idea what they did but it was crazy lemon all around. I can’t tell you what the shit looked like.. um.. lets say golden. What I can say it is was lemon and had a weird stingy feel to it. The fucking dude knows how to fucking fuck around with beer. Thanks a fucking lot Max.

A hazy golden ale with a thick off white head. An interesting aroma of clover hoeny and light orange pulp, bees wax. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar, with lemony accids, coriander, a bit short in mouth. 750 mL bottle from Bieropholie. Tasted June 20 2009.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye, labeled Hamoir la Gillmoir. Pours with a small, white head that fades over a hazy peach hued body. Good lace left behind. Aroma of tennis ball, grass, citrus, orange peel and light pepper. Taste is tart and slightly sour with large amounts of lemon, tangerine and pepper. Dry mouthfeel with light carbonation.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear orangey color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of sour and tart notes with some distinctive citrus notes. Taste is also a well balance mix between some tart and sour notes with some citrusy hops with limited bitterness. Full body with good carbonation and no discernable alcohol. Easily drinkable and very funky while being different form any other beer I tasted before.
