Our dream begins with open-top fermentation. At high krausen, a foamy, rocky yeast head crests the sides of the fermenter releasing notes of black pepper and spicy clove. Unfiltered and cloudy with yeast, it’s slightly tart and downright refreshing.

On tap at Sunset grill. Pours a cloudy yellow hue with big fluffy head. Looks delightful. The smell is spot on, bursting with plenty of peppery spice, banana and clove. The taste is of a hefeweizen straight outta Germany. Wow they nailed this !! Perfectly refreshing, A gentle touch of hops at the end with a bread malt finish. The drinkability on this is REAL high. I got to tell you, If I didn’t know better, I would think this was brewed in Germany.... Overall between the aroma and the taste, I want to take this to bed and make love to it. 7/28/11. Doesn’t translate as good from the tap into the bottle. BUT, it still is a REAL good in the bottle. Great brew.

Bottle, thank you to Steve in New Jersey. Cloudy yellow pour with a decent gradually diminishing white head. Aroma was fairly typical of the style.... wheat, banana, and a hint of spice. Flavour showed the same qualities with yeast and grain notes and was nicely executed. Gentle bitterness towards the finish. Straightforward and drinkable for the warm days of summer.. Nice one.

12 ounce bottle from Cork & Keg in Richmond, VA on 4/21/10. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of banana, bubblegum and yeast. Very estery. The taste is bubblegum and citrus with some bready notes. Medium bodied. Decent.

12 oz. bottle, in trade from MrBunn. I poured a little too carefully down the side, so I got no head. Beer was pretty, light gold, and clear until I poured in some yeast from the bottom of the bottle. Hefeweizen smell is there, just very light, with a slight mineral smell beneath. Taste is all right, though. Light notes of banana, lemon and a little clove. Some clean, light malt. Slight sour taste. A good beer that just didn’t look great, and that may be my pour or an older bottle.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly's, 3/1/10

Aroma: Some banana, cloves, some other spice, bubblegum
Appearance: Hazy orange-gold color with almost no head
Flavor: Typical hefe flavors with some sort of metallic feel
Palate: Light bodied beer with a tingly mouthfeel, lively carbonation
Overall Impression: Not my favorite hefe, the nose is not particularly exciting, and the flavor is a bit off. Its a mediocre example of the style in my opinion. Not a bad beer, but not close to good.

On tap at McGrath’s Irish Pub in Harrisburg. Pours a light hazy golden color with a little head. Taste is wheat, clove, some citrus, and a hint of peppery hops. Not much banana and there is some lacing. Not sure why the rating isn’t higher. A good beer.

Draught at Pony Bar, New York
Cloudy blond color. Spicy wheat aroma. Weak and dry mouthfeel, spicy wheat flavor; medium-low bitterness. Correct but boring Hefeweizen.

Bottle. Thanks, JB. Pale gold with a tin head. Not very cloudy. A light, crisp, weizen with a decent sour edge. Light malt and esters, with just a touch of banana and clove, but still flavorful. Decent stuff.

Absolutely solid. A very true representation of the hefeweizen style. Yeasty aroma with banana and clove notes. Tasted of hefe with mild citrus notes. Excellent mouthfeel and a savory finish.

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to hug rim. Bubblegum aromas. Sweet bubblegum upfront with a cloying, sour wheat finish.
