Thanks to Suttree for sharing this one. Clear dark brown with a creamy tan head. Perfumy bourbon aroma. Creamy smooth malt palate with nicely subdued bourbon notes.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with very little lacing head. Heavy brandy aroma with roasted malt note. Brandy chemical alcohol flavour with a persisting roasted malt flavour. End is burned and slight chemical. Not my style, well crafted though.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Clear, warm, orangey brown with an off-white head leaving a neat lacework. Sweetish aroma of oak and bourbon. Medium body with sweet whiskey notes and some burned caramel. Alcoholic, whiskey-like finish without much bitterness. 171107 Earlier rating:
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of boboski. Hazy, amber golden with a fairly small, off-white head. Aroma of bourbon and caramel. Medium body, sweet caramel notes, again some bourbon - but presumably it’s brandy?? The finish is dry and somewhat alcoholic. 8/3/7/3/15=3.6 180907

Dark mahogany color with red shades. The aroma is delicate, it shows evident vanilla. Quite round and smooth mouthfeel, sweet flavor, with sweet caramel and vanilla. Probably a too much sweet (and not complex), but still enjoyable for a late evening.

Cloudy dark amber color. Aroma of malt and barrel. The mouthfeel is very sweet, with good caramel flavor and strong Bourbon vanilla too; and a respectable bitterness at the end, when the alcohol is prickling the tongue. Very good.

Bottle courtesy of Monger: Poured a clear deep copper color ale with a medium foamy head with good retention and some great lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some hints of brandy. Taste is dominated by some sweet malt with some nice touch of brandy without any alcohol being noticeable. I thought it resemble more of a barley wine then a brown ale but very good nonetheless. Body is a bit light with good carbonation and no alcohol. Interesting beer from an interesting brewer that I am just discovering.

A brown, sweet beer. Simple characteristics. Very little hops for an American strong ale. The aroma has very light oak, sugar, and alcohol. Flavor is surprisingly sweet, with far more malt than hops. There is considerable alcohol here, but fortunately is it brandy rather than bourbon, and this flavor of alcohol gets up to the line of where it might start to ruin the flavor but never crosses it. A slow sipper. Not complex but solid and a great bargain at $6.49/ 4 pack.

Murky orange-red-brown body, thin cream head. Buttery, oaky aroma with brown sugar, butterscotch, toast, and grapes. Vinous, thin body dominated by red grape and brown sugar, all treated with buttery oak. Alcohol apparent but not overbearing. A very simple beer, thin, and more-or-less one-dimensional. I can’t offer high praise.
