A solid, well laced tan head on a near black body. The nose is a balanced melange of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malt, with hints of ash and molasses. This milk stout hits way above its weight. Cream, dark chocolate, smooth fresh ground coffee and roasted biscuit malt lead a well balanced taste profile. Elements of butter and short bread, vanilla, ground nuts and caramel add to a seamless blend. Density, rich body and slick mouth feel way above most 5% stouts. Excellent

A stout with a marshmellow in my glass!?!? ok.....i’ll bite. Aroma is roasty, smokey with cocoa power, not rich chocolate, but fake coca powder like. The marshmellow i found didn’t do anything except detract from me getting a good whif of the beer. The flavour was wattery, and thin, the smoke was still there, but the fake chocolate seems to dominate. Meh, not very good.

Schwarz wie Motoröl, in der Nase schwer auszumachen, im Trunk aber sehr malzig, milchig, dann röstig, bittersüß, süffig, Schoko, lecker.

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. It’s an almost black one, topped by a dense, light tan head of fingerthick size. Mocha, dark chocolate, roasted malts and some bonfire in the aroma. It’s dry and full-bodied with a nice carbonation level. Roasted bitterness, mocha, dark chocolate and a bonfire touch in the flavor, with some sugary marshmallow notes. Long finish. A quite lovely one, easy drinkable too. 150611

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy very dark brown with small tan head. Clear aroma of roast and malt, with notes of lactose and chocolate. Bitter, roasty flavour with notes of malt and coffee and touches of yeast and dark chocolate. Roasty aftertaste. Rich body. Pleasant.
