Bottle thanks to Sean. Poured a near clear gold with a white head that dissipated to a film on the edges. Aroma was full of spices, a bit of pepper and coriander, and some sweet grains. Flavor was similar, a bit overly spiced with sweet grains. A bit too much going on here.

Bottle: Poured a hazy orange with a pillow top white head. Aroma is spicy and leads directly into the spicy taste. Finish is a bit malt and hops. Not my idea when I think saison.

Location: 12 oz bottle from New Beer, 2/9/10

Aroma: Nose has lots of grass, yeast, flowers, spice, fruity notes, and some funk
Appearance: Clear golden-yellow color with a really huge, fluffy white head and some lace
Flavor: Taste is medium sweet, lots of yeast, some grass, mild sour and bitter on the finish
Palate: This one is fairly smooth with a soft carbonation, the 9% is hardly noticeable at all
Overall Impression: A decent saison, all the necessary components are there, if not perfectly put together. Perhaps a bit too much residual sweetness for my taste. I would have preferred that it were more balanced, but that is a small complaint, it is a decent beer.

Bottle. Hazy, deep gold body. Big, frothy, big bubbled white head. Strong aroma of alcohol, nail polish remover with notes of clove, toasted grain, spice, lacquer, plastic, banana. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly bitter with lots of alcohol. Medium body, velvety texture and lively carbonation. Overly sweet for a saison. That alone would take this down a notch. Combine that with its out-of-control, overpowering fusels and the solvent smell and lacquer taste and this saison is down lots of notches. A mess.

Draught at Ginger Man, NYC
Hazy blond color; creamy head. Aroma of plastic and spices, lightly soapy. Sweetish malt flavor, quite good indeed, a bit flowery and soapy. Correct bitterness. Good body strength. Pleasant.

A lightly hazed saison with a thick white head. A nice aroma of coriander, herbs, very perfumey, light bubble gum. In mouth, a bumped up saison, with sweet candy sugar, curacao, coriander, lingering hops bitterness, oily moutfheel, and warming alcohol. I agree with another rater, this is veering on triple territory. Bottle from Kappy’s Malden.

I didnt know what to expect from this one, on draft at Plan B in Simsbury. Saisons are not my cup of tea, but i will try anything once. Definite belgian yeast tones, flowers, citrus, and some wine overtones. not bad, but a weird selection at a burger bar, too fruity for my brutish tastebuds.

Pours gold into a tulip. Bright white head recedes to hug rim and blotch surface. Coriander and alcohol aromas. Sweet with fruity bubblegum upfront and through the middle. Sharp peppery alcohol finish.
