Vintage bottle at Kulminator, where it was sold as a dry-hopped version with Orval yeast, which is a separate entry here; however, since the label mentions an ABV of 6.8% and there is no mention at all of Orval yeast being used, I cannot but assume it is the Loterbol 6 version, so I have no other choice than to put my rating under this entry. Very thick, coarse, ’papery’, snow white, rocky and stable head over a lightly hazy golden blonde beer, more cloudy with deposit as expected. Aroma of straw, white bread, soapy wheat, field flowers, dried banana, lemon blossom, wet leather and damp hay. Crisp fruity onset, dried apricot and redcurrant, dryish with medium carbonation, bready pale malt sweetishness in the middle but still remaining on the dry side, floral and grassy, aromatic ’noble’ hop bitterness in the finish with lingering malt ’juiciness’. I get a slight hint of onsetting ’Brettification’ so it may still be that other limited version, but I have no means to be one hundred percent sure - quite frustrating, actually, Duysters should have indicated the difference more clearly!

Bottled@Poirotti (thanks Frank!). Slightly hazy golden colour, small white creamy head. Aroma is bready malts, some fruits, wood, yeast and mild sugary sweetness. Flavour is fruits, some yeast, sweet malts as well as mild spices and herbs. Lets the alcohol through quite well.

Sort of an average blond, decent malt and nice hops, but not much character or complexity.

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm) Pale yellow colour, slightly hazy, with firm white head, leaving lots of lacing. Malty, fresh and spicy nose with lots of grassy hops. Malty taste with initial notes of tropical fruit and lemon, replaced by impressive amounts of grassy, slightly lemony hops. Long, dry finish with a fresh, citrussy bitterness. Very nice beer, leaning in the direction of De Ranke’s XX Bitter. Tasty, hoppy and fresh.

Clear yellow colour, very small head. A bit thin, but with a nice bitterness and a hint of aromatic hoppiness.

Draught Yellowish head, very dense and fine, stable; clear yellow-gold beer. Grain nose, flowery, very fruity-yeasty notes. Bitterish almond flavour. Usually I don’t like this, too remindful of cheap brandy, but in this restrained, really nut-like way, it’s quite fine. Every new sip renews this flavour. Pale malts underneath, grain retronasal. Light, "cobwebs" texture. No new aftertaste, but longlasting main taste. Actually, quite good lighter blonde. A tip?

2004 tap @ Map Room. Light amber-yellow, moderately hazy, with a decent off-white head. Aroma of fruit esters, lots of yeast and some spicey something (hops perhaps). Integrates the belgian wit flavors of clove and banana, with some peach esters and lots of sweetness. Mouthfeel is slippery and quite light. Goes down easy, has a pleasant spicey finish with a light caramel aftertaste mixed in with the yeast. Medium bodied and well-balanced if not just a bit too thin.
