Great hazy, amber coloured body with a bit of a copper glow and a thin, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of fresh hops, pine, citrus and a lot of herbal and floral notes. Medium-bodied; Biting hop taste at first showing a lot of pine, malt, toffee and alcohol - a bigger body as the taste settles in. Aftertaste shows more hops, a lot of chewy malt, toffee and roasted sugars and a little spices tucked in. Overall, a potent and a nice well-balanced IPA for the winter season - nice to try, especially if you are hoping for hops for christmas! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 21-November-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 13-December-2010.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Hoboken Vine, 12/11/10

Aroma: It has an aromatic, hoppy aroma of floral, pine and citrus, smells fresh and hoppy
Appearance: It pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a small white head and drippy lace
Flavor: A fresh and hoppy flavor, with some fruity sweetness, grains, and a touch of booze
Palate: This medium bodied brew is highly drinkable, smooth and fresh with just a slight alcohol burn
Overall Impression: This is another Full Sail offering that I am thoroughly enjoying. In fact, Wreck the Halls maybe my favorite Full Sail beer yet. I wouldn't necessarily call this a winter beer, and I didn't get much of any the winter warmer flavors, but I just found it to be a really good beer.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market, Glen Allen, VA. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium sized frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, some toffee, candied citrus and a faintly spicy finish. The taste is leafy hops, pale malts, candied citrus, and a finish of citrus hops along with a faint bit of caramel. Thin bodied. Once again, Full Sail ALMOST hits the mark.

Pours deep amber into a shaker. White head recedes to hug rim. Sweet orange citrus and caramel aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning to resin in the lasting finish.

Full Sail tasting at Enoteca in Post Falls, Idaho. 4 oz sample from bomber poured into shaker. ’09 vintage. Piney hops juxtapose with a biscuity aroma. Pours clear golden with a medium head and nice lacework. Somewhat winey in flavor; grapefruit is also present. Alcohol lingers on the tongue long after first sip. Medium-low carbonation, which dissipates even more towards the end of the sample. Nice unidentifiable aftertaste. Overall, a very nice hoppy winter brew, more in the vein of Sierra Nevada’s Celebration than the more common maltier winter warmers such as Snowcap or Jubelale. Although I say more in the vein of Celebration, it’s definitely a different brew with its own unique character.

22oz bottle
Appearance: Clear copper with a decent white head that dissipates quickly leaving some lacing in the glass
Aroma: Nice and hoppy with grapefruit and pine
Taste: Grapefruit, some kind of spices and bitter pine in the finish
An OK IPA. The first sip was great along with the aroma, but the more I drink it, the more of a pine taste is left in my mouth.

2009 (6.5%) bottle thanks to Lt.Dan. Pours with a amber brown body; its chill hazed, not clear. Lightly off-white head (smallish). Aroma of pine, herbal and slightly catty hops. Spicy. A bit of caramel and even a sweet stewed meat note (rough approximation, and from the hops more than the malt). A bit of an odd fruit-bubblegum note. Taste is spicy up front, and herbaly/catty hoppy through out. Sort of an odd-thin malt and weird hop finish. Not your normal IPA, definitely a winter seasonal with the hop bill. Medium to high bubbles, dry.

2006 edition. A very hazy dark amber ale with a thick off white head. A nice hoppy aroma, pinhey and sweet honey aroma. In mouth, a good biscuitty malt, pinhey hops, sweet finish, nutty. Medium bodied. Bought at Booze Bros, Reno, August 2007.

Brigh orange with medium white head. Aroma of coriander, flavor of coriander, lime, and orange. Very bitter throughout, most prominent in the long finish. Very nice.
