Switzerland - did well to top Group A, but what a battering by Spain in the RO16. Beer is quite nice - caramel, dry fruits, and pleasantly boozy with little carbonation.

Shared 33 cl bottle. Pours a hazy pale amber with a cream-colored head. Aroma of malt, earth, fruit, caramel, funk. Taste is fruit, malt, funk, spice, yeast. Moderately sour finish. Seems closer to a saison. Good.

750mL bottle, drunk 9/16/16.
Not sure if this was rebrewed, though I think it was, based on a Zymatore version being released in 2014 (seems very unlikely they would have aged it for 10 years) and bottles being available recently on the shelf around that time (when I picked this up).
Anyways, it still shows signs of life, pouring a beige head atop an auburn-golden body, with good clarity and lots of sediment left behind. Retention is moderate to moderately-low.
Smells very fruity, very bready and rather oxidized, in the nose. Hops have faded for the most part but still suggest light vegetal/green notes, with a touch of pine and citrus. Fruity yeast notes, with strong minerality, provide the bulk of the nose as bready malts, light to moderate caramel and bland oxidation steadily increase as it warms/breathes. No alcohol or flaw.
Similar in the mouth with still some remnants of bitterness, a good minerality and still an enjoyable fruitiness. Hint of citrus but it’s quickly overtaken by the caramel, bread and stale, cardboard-like oxidation. Good attenuation, with a strong maltiness to the texture and moderate amounts of tight carbonation. I guess this was not one to age....

Batch 5.
Pulled straight from the fridge and it STILL gushed like crazy. Huge unshrinking head of foam in my glass. A small amount of liquid on the bottom...cloudy orange.
Intensely sour bitterness on the nose with a Brett like aroma.
Strong bitter flavour with a fruity and light vinegar tartness, hint of horse blanket. Pouring in the rest of the bottle, I find a mild sweet note or 2.
Mouthfeel suffers some from the over carbonation.
Interesting brew but not one I’d likely visit again.

19.06.2013, 0,75l bottle (#01008?) shared with Palme @ The Ginger Man NY:
Small creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly rich, lots of sour red currants (kind of like I remembered my grandmother?s home made red currants juice), broth, grass, vinegar, heather. Taste is slightly sour grassy, red currants, grass, berry skin, minerals, sorrel, heather. Dry mouthfeel. Never heard of the brewery before, and had absolutely no expectations at all, despite good ratings. This was actually really nice, and being this old, I really wouldn?t mind more of this.

Nice slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet sour-ish grassy, unripe fruits, grass, minerals, hay, sorrel, weeds, fruit stones, oak, hints of sour red berries and mild vinegar. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, sour grass, minerals, fruit stones, hay, bark, berry skin, weeds, paper, oak, soda powder, sour red berries. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish mineraly mouthfeel. Fair enough. Interesting to try it again after so many years.

Grabbed this off shelf at Murrays Cheese. Pours a hideous murky swamp water color. Nose is tart and of fruits. Tastes tart of cherries, floral hops, woody, and ginger. Funky and easy drinking.

2007 version - not an IPA; described as a Rousse de garde. Pours slightly hazed deep dark gold into a snifter. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to nothing. Sour summer fruit aromas. Sweet caramel upfront yields to sour pit and summer fruits before the dry, lasting bitter resin finish.

Bottle @ Dan’s house. Cloudy orange appearance with an off white head that disappears quickly. Dull, citrusy, white wine, dental floss nose. Mildly tart, sour, cherry, citrusy, dull hoppy flavor with some weird plastic fruit notes.
