Slurfke is a robust craft brown beer of the ‘double’ type. The roasted malts not only result in a dark color, but offer also delicious aromas and flavors of caramel and coffee. The proprietary yeast accounts for fruity aromas of banana and vanilla.

Roodbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is zoet en kruidig, iets van caramel, toffee, framboos en port. Best goed, is alleen iets te "licht" van karakter.

Bottle @ home. Nice dark amber dark red color, full sized beige head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is sweet malts, a bit sugary. Tastes about the same: sweet, sweet malts, some caramel, brown candy sugar. Average to medium body and carbonation. Drinkable but very sweet.

30th Jan 2016: fourth beer in a random tasting session I am having with myself while the wife is away. Poured slowly into a Westmalle chalice it certainly looked good: deep red hue to Teak coloured clear body, on top a fading, but lasting off-white covering of small, tight bubbles. Bananas and vanilla in the nose, sweet malty molasses in the taste. A bit too sweet, even for my ’sweet tooth’, a normally prefer the maltier/sweeter brews, but this is ’over the top’ with it’s sugary feel. Interesting and different, just too sweet, needs some balance.
