Bottle shared at home thanks to Sjogro. Clear dark brown with short lasting off white head. Lots of grapes, marzipan, pears, amaretto, milk chocolate. Quite sweet with boozy bitter finish. Full bodied with alcoholic finish. Not bad but quite alcoholic.

Bottle from (somewhere)beer shop, Netherlands consumed at home Wednesday 14th October 2015. Wonderful barley wine that has benefited enormously from BA, I don’t always say this but on this occasion it really is good. Murky dark brown with a light beige head. Warming, vanilla, creamy, fruity but quite smooth. Soft in the mouth, whisky shows but it’s like an ice cream. A7 A4 T9 P4 Ov16 4.0

Bottle at gollem. Pours very dark brown. Small white head. Smell is bit boozy ,sweet, oak. taste is sharp, bit bitter , booze , sweet, oak, notes of whisky -very hidden- warming. Not as thick as i like my barleywines, and perhaps a bit too bitter for my taste in BW. Still very impressed though .

On tap at Arends Nest Amsterdam. Looks like a dark sweet wine. Aroma of muscat sweet. Then some dry Oloroso sherry. Lovely.

Bottled@PBF X. Deep ambery brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is peat, some earth, leather and mild vanillaish and wooden notes. Flavour is very similar, with a very strong alochol kick in the finish.
