Marketed in the US as Tropic Punch.
Tropic Thunder is a joint effort with nomadic brewer Brian Strumke of Stillwater Artisanal. We brewed this sour ale with lactobacillus and let it ferment with plentiful mango, passion fruit and peach. Sweet!
There's a simple and straight forward story to this not so simple and straight forward beer. The idea was that we wanted to make a beer that tastes like a popsicle. A beer as refreshing as those ice cold, fruity treats we loved as kids. And you know what, we succeeded!

Bottle. Golden yellow pour. Aroma of juicy mango, orange, pineapple, peach, lacto sourness and papaja. Taste has lots of mango juice, acidic lacto sourness, tart, orange, peach, citrus, pineapple and a juicy finish. Like a wild beer smoothie, nice.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours lightly hazy gold with a transient white head. Aroma seems peach with a mild touch of sour. Med + body. Flavor is mildly sour peach skin (fuzzy kind) with some mixed tropical fruits I can’ parse. It’s mildly fruity sweet, but a peach skin tartness balances. Pleasant and sessionable.

Beer #6 (old rating) of 17 for each day of the 2018 Winter Olympics - One for a Country Participating in the Games: #6 - Sweden Ever so slightly hazy golden coloured body with a nice tall, but very fast-dying off-white head. Aroma of tons of tropical fruits - guava, passionfruit, papaya, mangosteen, rambutans and even a touch of jackfruit, all with a mellow but noticeable malt kick and some light citrus, though probably just from the punch of the passionfruit. Light-bodied; Super tart fruit flavours at first that show the tropical fruits and the funky malt before anything else and also so citrus, herbs and grasses along with a dose of light malt and a nice fruity finish. Aftertaste is definitely split up between full fruity flavours, a lot of tart notes and some sweet flavours, still from the fruits, with no real malt or complex notes at all. Overall, a nice very light and incredibly aromatic, tart and mouth-watering profile throughout. Great to sample and would be much better in the Seychelles or in Fiji than in Sweden! Still nice to sample and well worth finding, especially if you like like Fruit Beers or Sours. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 23-February-2018 for US$4,99, sampled in my hotel room here in New York on 26-February-2018 with the date on the cap as: 18-May-2019, which must be the 'best by' date.

330ml bottle. Hazy orange colour, no head. Aroma is fruity, passionfruit, peach, mango. Taste of mango, passionfruit, peach, lactose, yogurt like, light sweetness, sour finish, tart. Light body, average carb. Nice sour, extremely similar to Tropic Folk but with more mango, more tartness.

Tap at Omnipollos Hat, Stockholm. Gorgeous aroma and taste, so ridiculously full of passion fruit. Not top points because it was all about too much like passion fruit tropical fruit squash (juice) not a beer. --------------------------------- Re-rated, tap at Bishops Arms Östersund. 4.1 to 3.8. The smell is as sweet and syrupy as it tastes. Sure it tastes fine but the point is if i wanted to buy orange / mixed fruit squash i would go to the supermarket and get some. This is not really a beer sadly. (21/5/18) --------------------------------------- Bottle from Systembolaget. Tack Ingela. 3.8 to 3.4. This is just way too much like tropical squash it is scary. Wouldn't get again. (5/5/19) ------------------ Bottle at Hanas homequiz. I would probably have to agree with the last review. Too squashy and not sour in a good way. 3.4 to 3.3.
