Limited series of long time barrel aged beer.

Sometimes even a craft beer brewer gets lucky.

When aging beers in barrels there are for many reasons now and then " forgotten" barrels. These beers might have spend up to two years in the barrel. When finally finding the time to crack open these barrels you have drain-pour most of the time. But if lady Fortuna likes you a lot, you might find a hidden and almost forgotten treasure. It’s these rare and special beers that we cannot drink all by ourselves, and therefore have decided to share with our most appreciated customers. These batches of special beers are too small to develop as a new brand, but will be categorized under the name " Memoires".

"Memoire" I will be a blend of 1/3 Finesse , aged for two years, and 2/3 L’Ensemble, aged for 13 months. Both were aged on 2nd use whiskey barrels. The beer inside the barrels has maderized and portorized to perfection.

"Memoire" 1 will hopefully be a beer to be remembered on those rare quiet self-reflecting moments that we all need now and then. Cheers!

At kerstbierfestival 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours rather clear, dark amber / Copperbrown. Small white head. Smell is full, fleshy, bit sweet, some oak. Taste is bit bitter, as a start, than turns out sweet. Some aspects of what I picture as white wine. Rather sweet, nice balanced. Full and intense. perhaps the beer misses a bit of direction, it’s somewhat all over the place. But perhaps, that’s what makes this beer stand out towards others, unique - in a good way.

Sampled @ KBF 2016, Essen. Murky dark amber color, full sized creamy beige head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is quite vinous, flavor a little less but it’s actually quite nice. Moderately sweet with a slight underlying tannine tart hint. Nice.

[Thank you for sharing!][500 ml. bottle sampled @ O.B.E.R. Kerstbierfestival 2016] Dark brown amber, few tanned bubbles. Nose is varnish & oak, deep red wine character, red grapes, vinous, warming, big sherry, really far more sherry than whiskey this one for me, boozy, huge oxidation. Taste is flat warming varnish oak, oxidation is massive, alcoholic sherry mixed with varnish, red grape, lack of carbonation makes it a bit warming, oxidation is ever present. Flat bodied, boozy with varnish oxidation, dry red wine. Interesting but the oxidation is all encompassing for me, interesting but far too much for my taste. I admire it more than I like it.
