The Mikkeller oude Gueze lambic is a new unique collaboration between Mikkeller and Boon. Blending lambic from one to three years old, this blend is made in the traditional method of spontaneous fermentation in the Senne valley, Belgium. This special blend has a distinct twist being matured in oak foeders previously used for Calvados. Ideal before a meal or paired with cheese.

The fifth of twenty-one beers for our 11th wedding anniversary. Fátima's. Almost seven years aged. Almost clear, deep gold colored. AROMA- white grapes, green apple, lightly funky, floral and leafy, touch of leather. FLAVOR- smooth, neutral, moderately sour, lightly bitter, strongly floral and spicy hops, white grapes, sour apple, funky and leather, white currant, apricot at the bottom. Medium bodied. Nice stuff.

Poured from bottle at Black Xmas (bb 2036). Dregs: cloudy blonde gold with small white head. Funk, not bad, not a ton of complexity, but decent.

Many Thanks for this Oude Lambic to tderoeck. Vintage 2017. Calvados Barrel Aged. Coz czy mamy ten calvados no kapke go jest zielone jablka, a moze bardziej normandzki cydr niz calvados, no ale to pochodne. Intensywne w smaku, wytrawne, dosc gorzkie jak na lambicka, wiadomo dochmielil nie malo Mikkeller. To spotegowalo moc smaku, zwlaszcza posmaku. Bardzo musujace, strzelil korek mocniej i glosniej niz smiercionosne bomby Radzieckiej rosji (celowo mala litera). Barwa jasna lekko metnawa, biszkoptowo-szarlotkowo w posmaku. dobre choc poczatkowo (poza wystrzalem) nie bylo obiecujaco, niestety ma slaby aromat ten dzikusik, no ale jakby jeszcze polezalo moze doszly by pewnie jeszcze jakies inne parametry i doznania.

Bottle: Poured a clear golden color lambic with a large foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of funky barnyard notes with light green apple tart notes and oak is quite enjoyable. Taste is also a sublime mix of green apple tart notes with some oak notes and funky barnyard notes with a dry finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Solid gueuze that goes very well.

Bottle/Fest. A- Funky, hay, apple, white grape. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Funky, lemon. P- Medium body, average texture, high carbonation, effervescent finish. O- Slightly acidic but well balanced. This was very drinkable and not overly funky with the barnyard type of funk. Enjoyable and refreshing.

Flaska från SB. Lätt disig bärnstensfärgad vätska med medelhögt skum. Klassisk geuze med Boons fin syra och lätt funkighet. Knappt märkbar smak av Calvadosfaten. Mycket gott.
