A Loerik is a blend of Lambics intented to be Gueuze.
However, for some reason, the beer takes more than it's time to end his fermentation.

When we make a Gueuze blend the beer needs months before it is ready for sale.
For the Loerik, the fermentation is going so slowly that years are
necessary to obtain the same result.

We can't explain why and, naturally, we can't produce intentionaly such a beer. A Loerik is always the result of a coincidence with a beautiful result at the end!

Bottle sampled at Foeders. Smells a bit like wort, white wine, funk, apple, peach, oak, cognac. Has a bit of that unfermented lambic character going on. Faro. Medium sweet and sour, also a bit bitter. Almost flat. Interesting but not amazing.

Lovely classic cantillon nose. Could probably settle a bit more. Tart funk, some Brett and a touch of stone fruit

375mL bottle from Beer Gonzo, pours a hazy bright golden with a tiny white head. Aroma brings out a very dusty barnyard funk, with plenty of dusty leather, and some cardboard. Flavour is tart and citric, with tons of citrus peel, old leather, cardboard, and barnyard funk. Somehow, the tired leather, cardboard and funk work really nicely. It's not a top-tier gueuze, despite the rarity and hype, but it is very nice indeed.

Spotting this several times at BierCircus in Brussels in the period 2006-2009. 15 years later finally. New batch. 2019. Trade. 37,5cl bottle. Shared with SirAlex. Pours amber copper with a small head. Nose is barnyard and horseblanket. A scent of lemon and citrus. Dry and quenching with a good level of funk lingering.

375ml bottle thanks to Kenny. It pours lightly hazy golden - blonde with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, musty, bright, damp grass, leafy, herbal, waxy citrus peel, grapefruit, lime cordial and must. The taste is dry, musty, tangy, leathery, lemon rind, lime, grapefruit, apricot, passion fruit, mango, floury, chalky, zingy and fresh. Funky finish. Medium+ body and limited carbonation. Works very well.

Bottle, 375 ml, shared with kajser27. Shared with him and Miro B. Cloudy golden, almost no head. Funky, citric, leather, barrel, cellar. Flat. Puckering. Quite unique and very nice. Wonder what's going to happen with this one over time.

37,5cl bottle (bottled 15 October 2019, 5,5%) from the brewery as my #3000 beer from Belgium. F: no real. C: deep gold, light hazy. A: funky, bit fresh gooseberries, woody, citrus, bit lemon water, horse-blanket, redcurrants, cellar. T: medium malty base, woody, funky, bit gooseberries, bit lemon, bready touch, redcurrants, basement, bit puckering, dry on the palate, not so acid so very nice, only traces for carbonation yet fully enjoyed for sure.
