A Loerik is a blend of Lambics intented to be Gueuze.
However, for some reason, the beer takes more than it's time to end his fermentation.

When we make a Gueuze blend the beer needs months before it is ready for sale.
For the Loerik, the fermentation is going so slowly that years are
necessary to obtain the same result.

We can't explain why and, naturally, we can't produce intentionaly such a beer. A Loerik is always the result of a coincidence with a beautiful result at the end!

Hapu, kuiv, puuviljane, happeline, humalat, tsitrust, sidrun. Flät nagu oodatud. Hea, aga tavaline geuze on parem.

Thanks to Kraddel. 750 ml. bottle split by 4. Second bottle that I try. Lightly hazy darker orange, head disappears quickly. Nose is soft stone fruit, lightly funky, low old cellar and soft hay. Virtually no carbonation, even less than other bottle tried. Very soft mushy stone fruit, hay, overripe peach and oak, more fun than the regular geuze and obviously fun to try given how rare and famous the previous batch used to be.

Bottle shared with and thanks to Kraddel. Near clear golden with a ring off white head. Aroma of dry cellar funk, cobwebs, dust notes and bright lemon notes. Flavour is moderate sour. Medium bodied with very soft carbonation.

Pours slightly unclear gold. Ever so slight ring of head. Scent is sharp, green , mushroomy wooden funk. citric, Malic acid. Taste is citric, malci acid, brett, bready, loads of oak. mild mushroomy 'funk'. Very decent. Low carbonation. Just as the OG, it's pretty good, but overhyped.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange gold with some carb and no head. The aroma is strong funk, rubber, floral, oak. Medium body, strong funk, nice tartness, glad to finally try this.

750 ml bottle shared at the original Chez Moeder Lambic’s cellar (A Day To Sink All Sea Shepherds tasting). Hazy orange color with off white head. Malty and yeasty aroma, toasted bread, funky barnyard notes, grass, citrusy fruity, stone fruits, wood. Light sweet and moderate acidic taste. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.
