29 September 2019. Bottle from B is for Beer in Chania, Crete. Bedroom tasting in Pela Mare hotel. Shared with the lovely Anke (but actually she was asleep)! Pours hazy black with a lasting, thin, frothy, beige head. Aroma of toast, espresso, fondant, earth, roasted nuts, vanilla. Taste is light malty sweet, subtle chocolate & cream, nuttiness providing the transition to roasted bitter fondant, earth, powdery coffee, with sourish dark fruits underneath & an edge of umami. Dry, earthy hoppy finish, lingering ash, fondant, still some cream. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Full-on roasted & ashy, nicely done.

bottle from b is for beer. pitch dark, small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, licorice, coffee but also a lot of sulphur (farts). not really super fantastic. flavor is hard roasted malts, fainter licorice, quite dry, a little chocolate, a little lacto, some hard roasted cofee.. flavor is fine, but it smells like ..erh.. shit.

Bottle. Dark brown, close to black color, coffee foam. Aroma: roasted barley and slightly sour coffee, caramel, chocolate, sweetness. Taste: sweet, roasted, molasses, coffee, chocolate, caramel. Good.

29/6/2019. On tap at the Strange Brew Taproom, Athens. Pours thick and black with a large tan coloured head. Aroma of rich chocolate, toffee, molasses, roasted malt, dark fruits, hops, chocolate biscuit and light liquorice. Medium sweetness and moderate roasted bitterness. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation. Very good from tap (better than bottled which was still good but lacked the intensity of it when served from keg).

Bottle from Beergium. Pours black with small, light brown head. Roasted with chewy tobacco, coffee and dark bread. Fairly light and watery with again chewy tobacco, heavy roast and dark bread. Light tart hint. Good, but very roasty.

Dark brown, opaque colour, brownish small head. Roasted aroma has tobacco and dark bread. Medium-bodied. Toasted flavour has licorice and ash. Combination is quite medicinal, even a bit mentholy. A bit weird.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Roasty, chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, nut flavoured coffee, hazelnut, cream, a touch of liquorice. Taste is minimally dry, roasty dark malty, slightly chocolately, minimally nutty, notes of dark chocolate, hints of hazelnut, a touch of tobacco; lingering creamy, nutty finish. Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, soft carbonation.

From bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Black color with nice beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, coffee, licorice, cocoa, dark chocolate. Sweet and moderate bitter taste. Medium to full silky oily body with soft carbonation.
