Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 12.02.18. Copper to ebony. Beige head. Interesting aroma and taste of medium dark malt, bark and cigar box. One of the better schwarzbiers.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. An attractive creamy head lingers and sticks to the glass. Aroma is burnt to roasted grains, and dark chocolate, but on the whole fairly restrained. Taste is full of roasted bitter flavors up front, trends towards the sour spectrum at the finish, but on the whole a nice balance is maintained between the two. Body is medium with a mild carbonation. Overall: tasty.

Bottle. Close to black body with a big, creamy, dense beige head. Aroma has dark, roasted malt with a hint of coffee. Flavor is medium sweet, roasted dark malt, coffee and some chocolate. Medium body and average aftertaste. Decent, but it somehow did not hit me so much. I like Schwarzbier, but think this becomes a bit anonymiuos somehow.

330ml bottle, batch 68, picked up at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Huge, rocky tan-coloured head reduced to a patchy layer. Rich lacework on the glass. Jet black body. Mid-sweet caramel aroma, nicely roasted. Dark bread, caramel, dough, coffee notes and moments of dark fruits to the ending. Rather foamy in the mouth. Nice schwarzbier version. (Tromsø 27.10.2017)

Bottle. Pours a deep brown to black colour with a beige head. Malty aroma of rye bread, ash, chocolate, nuts and earth. The flavour is more roasted with ash, dark chocolate and coffee beans. Has a silky mouth feel, light to medium body and a medium bitterness. A well roasted and malty lager. Nice one.
