From tap. Pours hazy dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is butterish and roasted malty. Bitter, dry and roasted malty. Slight sweet, caramelish and toasted malty. Dry, bitter and slight herbal, bityer and toasted malty finish.

Sampled at VCBF 2017. Thnx for sharing Eugene and Tim ! Pours black, small grey head. Smell is sharp, intense, oaty, bit burnt. Taste is intense, oaty, sharp, very burnt.

Thank you kraddel & tderoeck! Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ VCBF 2017. Black, little tanned. Nose is coffee, umami soy sauce, stale chocolate. Taste is stale herbal chicory coffee, bitter leaves, stale cheap chocolate, weirdly vegetable. Poor bodied, cheap chicory coffee, leaves. Not a a fan.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of coffee, sweet impression, caramel, dried fruits, pretty roasted. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very roasted, coffee, bit sourish, bitter hops, dry finish. Aftertaste: more coffee, bitter, bit hoppy, sweet, caramel, some dried fruits.

Draft at Kaapse 3 year anniversary festival. Dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of roast, dark chocolate, licorice, light veggies and overripe dark fruits. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at Kaapse festival. Black with beige head. Dried fruits, light ash and roasted malts, blackberries, light mineral, sweet toffee. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit watery and dry feel.

Shortlived dark-cream head over cola to deepbrown beer. Spicy & roasted nose; husks, faint black cardamom, but also toffee/treacle, bit of coffee. Drier than the nose suggested, husks, coffee. Bit soapy too. Some good hops, however. Feels a bit thinnish, not much body, just a bit slick. Not very carbonated either. Hoppy mild.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks troubles. Dark brown to black. Chocolate, roast, a bit of coffee, sweetish, slightly sourish, bitter finish, some ash, medium-bodied. Pretty nice.

Negra de tinte rojizo, excelente espuma muy cremosa, beige, y muy duradera. Gran aspecto. Aroma ahumado, no muy marcado, con notas ligeramente lácteas. En boca tiene cuerpo medio y textura oleosa y presenta un sabor muy agradable, base de malta tostada y chocolate. Pero incorpora elegantes notas frutales, mango quizás.. en una mezcla muy lograda. Brillante.
