Draught at SP Brewing, 9/29/23. Dark, inky, no head. Didn't read up on this one but it's spicy as shit in the nose. Reminds of light green bell pepper, thought there was coffee. Fruity, chocolatey, not too heavy in the vanilla. Thought it was coffee but it's just cinnamon. Rich, good attenuation, lots of acidity, spice, dark chocolate. Thick, rich, not too sweet. The heavy acidity is great. The weird cinna-pepper not as much. No booze, good attenuation.

Bottle thanks to Anthony. Pours black with small tan head. The aroma is strong bourbon, wood, roast, licorice, vanilla, cinnamon, molasses, brownie. Slick body, fudge brownie, vanilla bean, roasted malt, licorice, nice sweetness, bourbon finish, light cinnamon, enjoyed this.

Tap at Sovereign for CBC 2017 into a wineglass showing pitch black with no head and barely any carbonation. The nose shows strong notes of chocolate, figs, molasses, and an altogether vinous quality. Reminiscent of Dark Lord. The palate is full bodied, slick, and oily with no carbonation due to the high ABV. Milk chocolate forward with light maple syrup, cinnamon on the mid-palate with more dry molasses on the finish. Despite the high ABV, there is practically no alcoholic heat.

Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with a thick texture and soft carbonation. Definitely getting some Huna/Abraxis vibes from this one. [17-09-2016]
