Bottle at home. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, vanilla fudge, bourbon, toffee, booze, sweet dried fruits, oak, marzipan, touch of nuts. Flavour is very sweet and moderate bitter with a potent bittersweet and slightly boozy finish. Body is full, rich and thick. Amazing Moonshine BA Barley Wine, massive flavour and deep aroma. Great stuff!

Pours a unclear daark copper /medium dark brown. No head. Scent is recognizable barley wine. Don't really get the barrel, accept perhaps a bit of charred oak. Taste is medium intense. Fairly sweet, medium thick body, low to no Carbo. Dried fruits ( figs, raisins, prunes). Very intense on the fruityness, but the barrel is silent. Very mild traces of bitterness ( oak tannins rather than hops). Some chocolaty. Very complex finish, where the bitterness / oak tannins build up to a crescendo. Mild charred character, more hidden than the scent. Very decent!

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Malt, dried fruit, vanilla, peat and bourbon in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with oak, vanilla, peat and bourbon. Warming alcohol. Low on carbon. Good!

0.33 l bottle from 'Saveur Bière', best before December 2022, cellared for one-and-a-half years. Clear, deep ruby with a thin, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a little boozy aroma of molasses, caramel, vanilla, raisins and some oak. Very sweet, malty, a bit fruity taste of molasses, caramel, vanilla, raisins and some oak, followed by a long, slightly bitter, warming and quite boozy finish. Full body, very oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Heavy sipper, quite boozy but not unpleasant at all, fairly saturating, overwhelming aroma of whisky. Good!

Bottle @ home. Very dark brown reddish color. Small beige head with short retention. Aroma's: sweet, caramel, light butter, a bit boozy. Retronasal it's sweet, boozy, but not overpowering, whisky-ish, some wood, some fruit. Flavor is above moderate sweet, light woody bitter, alcoholic fruity (sourish). Alcohol is warming but not (too) sharp. Long finish with some wood, dark caramel and chocolate, light bitter. Nothing too much, very well done, even after some cellar ageing.

[ As Emelisse White Label Barley Wine (Old Smokey Moonshine BA) ].Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, sweet malt, caramel, candy, dried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, candy, caramel, sweet malt, dried fruit, daim. Almost black. Aroma is bourbon flavours, wood sugar, sugars, syrup, chocolate, dark caramel, a hint of schnapspraline. All this vocabulary dos not even come close! Taste is a bit sharp, lots of cinnamon, sweet syrup, still pretty drinkable. Nice. Low carbonation.

Bottle. Murky brown. Broad chocolate bourbon cream aroma, usually not a bourbon fan, but this is nice. Wide sweet, dry bourbon, pleasant wood-caramel-vanilla-tobacco combo, oxidation doesn't matter. Light berry, a hint heat. Medium body, dry iodine/salt, nice!
