Brewed for our annual Oktoberfest celebration (Oktoberfest St. Louis), is malty yet well-balanced like the bier traditionally served at Oktoberfest in Munich.

Can to mug.
Appearance: ruddy amber to mahogany color with a two finger white foamy head which slid off mildly to leave some messy lace
Aroma: clean nutty to earthy character, roasted maltiness, toasted grains, some caramel malts
Flavor: semi-sweet malty toned, some roastiness, mellow aftertaste of roasted nuts and caramel malts
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, fairly smooth along tongue; finishes semi-crisp and some roasty grip
Overall: decent to good Marzen, I believe I could return to.

Mixes grainy grassiness with caramel and a firm floral undertone, with touches of toast and apple. Finishes with more flowers and a smidge of bitterness.

Pint can - clear light amber - nicely rich maltiness that is bready and lightly sweet, tempered by a light acidity and some finishing floral bitterness - clean, balanced, crushable - some rich nuttiness and dark bread on the tail end, along with a light spiciness - yum!

16 ounce can into dimpled mug, canned on 9/20/2019. Pours crystal clean deep golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big honey, toasted biscuit/dough, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of caramel, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big honey, toasted biscuit/dough, and nuttiness; with lighter notes of caramel, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of honey, toasted biscuit/dough, nuttiness, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.4%. Overall this is a fantastic Oktoberfest/Marzen. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bready malts and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel, and not overly bitter. Fantastic big clean/rich Pils/Munich malt showcase/complexity; with great noble hop/presence balance for the style. Light residual sweetness with lingering bitter dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding spot on style example. One of the best Oktoberfests I've had!

This is kind of an odd duck for a traditional red Oktoberfest lager. It's paler in color and has a little bit of toast flavor but it's not like it's from Vienna malt. From something else the flavors aren't bad but different than any traditional good Oktoberfest with Vienna malt would be.
