Slightly unclear amber to copper red body with a nice, creamy off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt and some general fruit but dominated by Christmas spices and then especially ginger. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, some dry fruit, Christmas spices, especially ginger. Medium body with sweet and spicy aftertaste. Decent but pretty one dimensional. By the way, why is this registered as an amber, this is as spicy as aa spicy beer can be. The only amber part of this is the color.

Shared bottle at annual yule beer tasting on board Fridtjofen 07.12.18 and 08.12.18. Brown copper. Persistent head. Aroma and taste of herbs, star anise, overripe red berries, carrots, toast and biscuits. A bit waterish.

7-3-7-4-14 Bottle, #242, 16 months before bbd. Pours brown, with a creamy head. Aroma is roasted malts with dark bread, syrup, vanilla and lactose, as well as some cardamom. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with dark bread, brown sugar and sweet coffee, as well as some spices and earthy minerals.

Bottled. Thanks Fila & Antonija!! Hazy dark ruby, off white head. Huge Christmas spices in the aroma, solid maltiness. Classic sweetish red aleish caramelly malty background with the spiciness floating in and out without ever coming to the forefront, well balanced, very much apfelstrudel-like. A good winter ale really!

Pours slightly hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes malt, caramel and christmas spices. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel, malty and christmas spiced finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A dense, finger-thick beige head forms over an unclear reddish brown body. Nice curtains. Rather malty aroma, with a light sourish touch. Some bonfire notes, bread and caramel. It's smooth on the palate, very smooth actually, with a light sweetness and a medium body fullness. Bread, caramel, toast hints and a light sour touch in the flavor, along with a herbal, spiced touch. Raisins too. Long malt driven finish. A well brewed beer, but not my preferred style. 181226

170ml draught at Ølhallen. Filmy layer, clingy lacing, deep mahogany coloured body. Earth and herbs on the nose. Mixed taste character of herbs, caramel and dark berries. A roasted touch to the ending, semi-dry. Pretty nice. (Tromsø 19.12.2018).
