Bottle at home, 06/05/17. Hazed golden orange with a billowing off white head ... some floaties during the pour but they soon settled out of view. Nose is lemon rind, straw, light herbal notes, grains, faint yeast, light spice. Taste comprises lemon tinged straw, light white pepper, sage evident, yeast strains, hint of ginger. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok saison.

Bottle picked up at BD Castlegate. It pours hazy yellow with a decent white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, lemon zest, lemongrass, sage and cracker. The taste is crisp, dry, fresh lemon, lemongrass, sage, herbal vibe, white bread, soda water and salted cracker with a dry finish. Light - medium with moderate, foamy carbonation. Balance is pretty well judged. Sounds weird, but sort of works.

Keg @ Brewdog Manchester, Manchester. Blonde with a dryish floralness about it. Not too stated with its ingredients.

Draft at Brewdog, Camden. Near clear golden with a white head. Aroma of sage and lemon, unsurprisingly. Exactly what it says on the tin. Flavour is light sweet and light to moderate bitter with lemon acidity. Above light bodied with light carbonation.

Tap at Shelton Brothers. Hazy gold with a finger of foam. Big sage aromas with some lemon yogurt on the palate. Well-rounded with a soft mouthfeel. Crisp and clean finish with more lingering lemon. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lemon And Sage Saison on 30 Oct 2016 at 08:48 - Score: 7
