Cask at York Beer & Cider Festival 2019. Black brown colour, bubbly biege foam head leaving lacing and aroma of chocolate, malt, roasty. Taste is roasty malt, dark chocolate, dried fruity, coffee, vanilla, cherry with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry roasty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable

Cask-conditioned at the Swan, York 12/12/2018. Near black in colour with a thin, beige, head. Plain chocolate, some cherry sweetness, touch of liquorice and plenty of toastiness in the finish. A good stout.

Cask @ Crown & Kettle, Manchester. Black with a small off-white head. It's a smooth ale with light vanilla notes, with an obvious strength to the ale behind this.

Cask. North Riding Brew Pub, Scarborough. Clear, very dark brown. Thin, and bubbly, lasting, tan head. Dark chocolate, and coffee malts. Dark cherry tang. Taste is bittersweet. A little dryness. Smooth palate, with a liqueur booziness. Finishes dry, with more of the bittersweet tang. Nice one.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours clear, deep brown with a creamy mocha topping. The aroma holds a bit of milk chocolate, some dark fruits and ashy roast. Medium sweet flavorbwith lots of liquefied dark fruits, mocha, bitter dark chocolate, raspberry. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with prominent ashy roasty bitterness, some further dark chocolate and raspberries, scorched earth, charred wood. Not bad.
