Our signature porter, brewed with oats, has a soft, velvety mouthfeel with layers of chocolate and roasted malt on the palate. The ominously black appearance belies this porter’s approachability; Pot & Kettle is satisfyingly smooth and nourishing, but never lumbering or heavy. While not sweet, dark fruit notes, such as cherries, dates, and raisins, reveal themselves as the beer warms.

This beer pours a brownish-back color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes steadily to a dense film. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted coffee, malt and figs. Medium body with a roasty coffee and malt character, with touches of chocolate and dark fruit in the background. The finish is bittersweet espresso and dark chocolate. Pretty good all around.

Bottle split at Chriso Easter tasting, big thanks to Leighton, 04/04/15. Light black with a decent tan covering. Nose is dark fruit rinds, figgy jam, toffee, smoke, light spice, trace of coffee. Taste comprises rich malt notes, chocolate biscuit, toffee, cocoa, subtle coffee grinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok porter but expected a lot more from Trillium, the coffee was pretty muted in this number!

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Almost opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is crisp and semi dry. Mellow dark malts, mild tangy coffee. Touches of tangy fruits and paper. Light semi dry finish. An okay beer but from Trillium, disappointing.

Bottle, big thanks to Leighton @ChrisO. It pours deep brown with a small tan head. The nose is earthy, roast, good hit of coffee, light spice, umami and a hint of chocolate. The taste is earthy, roasty, plenty of coffee, toast, charred stuff, leather, mild acidity and brown bread with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth to it. Tastes a lot like cold-brew coffee. Slightly underwhelming from these guys.

Bottle shared at chriso’s Easter 2015 tasting - London. Sourced from the brewery. Pours deep brown with a creamy tan head. The nose holds some dark fruits, light coffee, faint cocoa. Medium sweet flavor, roasty, with light ash, cocoa, burnt earth, burnt toffee. Medium bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Nicely balanced finish with subtle creamy coffee, toasty bread and chocolate. Pretty solid and well rounded, although I was surprised that the coffee character wasn’t more pronounced.
