375ml bottle. MInimally milky, yellow-ish golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Mildly bretty, funky minimally vinous aroma, hints of powdered sugar, grape sugar, Hubba Bubba bubblegum, white grapes. Taste is tart, slightly fruity, citrusy and zesty, vinous, hints of lemon peel, white grapes. Rather monotonous.

Bottle share gathering at Bruce’s. Hazy pale gold beer, no head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Dry lemon sherbet turning acid. Mild floralness provides some relief. Quite an acidic finish. Clean but too puckery for me.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s place. Many thanks to Kenny. Hazed yellow / straw coloured pour with a halo of small white head. Aroma is funky sour, bile, onion, straw, lemon. Flavour is composed of sharp lemon, citrus, sour, lemon sebert. Semi puckering, funky baby diaper, straw. Palate is sharp, clean acid, highish carbonation. Super dry finish.

Bottle split at Bruce’s, thanks to Kenny - my 3,000th US rate on RB, 06/03/15. Hazed golden orange with moderate off white edgework. Nose is bitter citric peel, acidic tones, tangy fruit, burnt straw, light spice, lemon rind. Taste comprises citric fruit balsams, vinegar strokes, crisp apple core, tarte lemon, musty wood, funk. Medium body, fine carbonation, acidic wash in the close. Ok - a fairly simple sour but drinks fine.

Bottle shared in London - big thanks to Kenneth. Pours hazy gold with a foamy white head. Lots of tart lemon and peach on the aroma. Light sweet flavor with hearty acidic burn, lots of juicy lemon, some tangerine. Light bodied with average carbonation. Cleansing acidity to finish, lots of lemon, peach, slight vinegar. Good stuff.

Bottle thanks to Bruce. It pours hazy gold with a small white head. The nose is fresh, funky, apricot, sour peach, sherbet, sour yoghurt, mild acidity and green apple. The taste is crisp, bitter, tart, sharp, sour peach, apricot, sherbet, good acidity and old fashioned lemonade with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Crisp and tart. Solid stuff.

Tap at Verdugo Bar for the Anniversary party. I was excepting very little because of the ratings but this was delightful. A pretty radiant straw color, cannot see through it. Its a lemony, tary, light drinking beaut. I can drink that all summer long. Easy body with nice tartness all around. No off putting aspects to the beer. No nail polish, no acetone, seems like someone got a bad growler.

On tap at the brewery. An old batch 1. Pours with a white head with surprisingly good flocculation/clarity. Aroma is of wheat, grapes, lightly tart, white wine and lemon. Taste is pretty magnificent; very nicely balanced. Aroma is fruity, mango, lychee, papaya, peach sorbet, lightly tart with nectarines in the finish. Really nice and fruity. Lively and dry mouthfeel. 12-16 more months in a white wine barrel and this would be a legitimate Cuvee de Castleton clone. Really a pretty good young sour!
