Swing top bottle with a cap and packaged on 03/26/13 and to be enjoyed before 11/26/14. Pours an almost black colour with a deep mocha head that stays a long time and gives out dirty foam lacing. Sweet aromas of cacao, roasted malts and light vanilla. The roasted malts is quite present in the taste with mild sweetness from the cacao, but not so milky. More like an Imperial Oatmeal Stout than a chocolate milk one. Still good, but not quite the style.

Draft - Dark roast, dark chocolate and some nice molasses. Jet black with a rich brown head. Little bit of molasses and booze, dark chocolate and a sweet boozy finish. Not bad, but booze dominates.

7.2% 750ml bottle from the LCBO. The beer pours a pitch black with a solid tan head that dissipates into a ring around the glass. Rich chocolate, umami, soft cocoa and lactose. Full bodied with a velvety soft mouthfeel. The taste is soft milky chocolate, roasty, a bit of a cross between cacao/coffee. Richly sweet and delicious.

Big bottle from my local LCBO capped and with a swing-top on the side. Like I was going to save any. Peshaw! Standard stout look. Oddly the stuff smells a lot like chocolate milk. I mean sure some chocolate, malts, but actual chocolate milk? Weird. The taste is sweet malty, roasted malt, some chocolate. It’s like they mixed beer and chocolate milk, rather than brewing it. But it works.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a big, brown, creamy head. To thte nose there are scents of coffee, cocoa, earth and burnt toast. First sip was smooth with medium carbonation. Flavours of coffee, very light cocoa (kind of disappointing level) and almost burnt toast. Finish is burnt withlight hop flavour lingering amoungst the sea of burnt.

Has a pungent aroma of musky malt with some smoke and a little lactose and coffee. Palate is a little watery. A little lacing, pours pretty black with some head. Some bitterness at the end. Pretty full taste - among Wellington’s better. The lactose isn’t that prominent. On tap at volos.
