Cask at the Finborough Arms - London. Pours clear, deep reddish gold with a white froth cap. The nose holds ripe citrus fruits, minerals. Medium sweet flavor with some jammy citrus, a bit of piney bitterness, grainy bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Gooey citrus in the finish, some resin, more grainy bread. Not bad on the whole.

Bottle at the Cotteridge Convention thanks to The_Osprey. It pours lightly hazy deep ruby with a small white head. The nose is soft, sweetish, sticky caramel, sugar, dried fruits and glazier cherry. The taste is bitter-sweet, earthy, roasty, light char, brown bread, toast, caramel, raisin, touch of alcohol and toasty brown sugar. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent.

24th Jan 2015. Cotteridge Wine meeting, shared bottle. Mixed bag of tricks this beer. Poured a slightly hazy terracotta colour with a scummy head. The nose a fruit basket of aromas with citrus fruits competing with dark, sweeter varieties of other fruits. The taste was also fruity but half-tart, half-sweet with a distinct maltiness showing through the alcoholic fruit cocktail. Nice, but overshadowed by ’heavy hitters’ it came to me in between.

Cask at the Finborough Arms, 17/01/15. Lightly hazed golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is light pine, straw, bitter fruit, orange peel. Taste comprises caramel malt, pine, light spice, dark fruit rinds, straw. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, earthy hop bitterness in the close. Ok suppable amber, perhaps should deliver a little more when considering the ABV tho’ ?
