Mystery beer [blind tasting]. Bottle without a label shared by Beersiveknown @ tasting at his place. Huge thanks Steve! Very nice clear reddish color, small off-white head. Aroma is malts, heavy hops, sticky resinous aroma. Taste malts, sticky hops again and also quite resinous and piney. Bitter finish. Tastes like an old IIPA that’s now a barley wine. Held up really well. Very nice!!

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention 2015. Pours unclear amber-gold with a bubbly white head. Sugary pale bread in the nose, light caramel, ripe citrus. Medium sweet flavor with some dried leaves, bread, old toffee. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming in the finish with more leafy hops, toasted bread, grain, caramel. Meh.

Bottle at the Cotteridge Convention thanks to Steve. It pours hazy amber with a small, bubbly white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, orange, tangerine, stewed fruits and toasty brown bread. The taste is crisp, bitter-sweet, toasty, orange peel, peppery citrus peel, pithy lemon, bready and some booze towards the finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Pretty punchy stuff. Perhaps a touch past its prime, but decent anyhow.

24th Jan 2015: bottle shared at the Cotteridge Wine meet another one from Steve. Misty orange/amber with a good off white head. Nose was light, earthy hops with some sweet maltiness and mixed fruits. The taste came across as semi-sweet molasses with mild citrus fruit flavours which complimented each other nicely. Expected a more balanced or hoppier brew to be honest, but I really enjoyed the beer I got, and that is what counts!

Bottle split at the Cotteridge Convention, thanks to Steve, BIK, 24/01/14. Hazed orange amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is earthy hop, caramel, candied fruit peel, bitter orange. Taste comprises candied orange peel, grapefruit, bubblegum, light dank hop strokes. Medium + body, fine carbonation, sweet licks in the close. Ok DIPA, ABV well masked, a touch sweet, hops not overly promiment, mellow affair. Veering towards a barley wine as it ages perhaps?
