Craft Islington. Cask. Bright clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and smooth. Mild fine carbonation. Floral bitterness and contrasting creamy sweetness. Bitterish dried fruits. Mild tangy citric hop. Smooth finish. Nicely balanced and pretty drinkable. Bitter floral linger.

Cask at Craft Beer Co, Islington on 7th December 2014. Copper with thin off-white film and scant lacing. Rich, malty and pungent aroma. Richly hoppy in-mouth with super-savoury nutty kick. Nutty finish with savoury notes and grassy bitterness. Engaging texture and full body. Excellent!

(Cask at Southampton Arms, Gospel Oak, London, 24 Apr 2013) Golden amber colour with foamy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, apricots and dried fruit. Malty, fruity taste with bready malt, apricots and a generous grassy bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, starts with a certain malt sweetness and dries out towards the end. Well balanced and quite nice.

Cask at the Sussex Arms, Twickenham Green, 16/02/13. Lightly hazed golden amber with a thin white head that veers edgeward. Nose is pale malts, orange, grass, touch of spice. Taste comprises malts, citrus, grass, berry fruits, spice, touch of hops. Medium in body with moderate carbonation, some bitterness in the finish. Perfectly drinkable but not doing a lot to interest me ! File under ’W’ !
