Tap at Route CBC. It pours hazy deep brown with a medium off-white head. The nose is toasty, umami, wood, earth, light vanilla, varnish, grape, toffee and lactic notes. The taste is bitter, wood, varnish, balsamic vinegar, vanilla, toffee, earth, alcohol heat, vinous, burnt wood, resin and leather. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather woody. Not too bad all-round.

Draft @ BCTC, Ommegang Brewery. August, 8, 2015. Aroma is cherry Sour Patch Kids, oak, light vinegar.
Flavor starts with sharp oak, with more of the wine character. Tannin, hints. Malt and dirty socks through the center. Soft carbonation, tannic oaky finish. This certainly is nowhere near Captain Lawrence Rosso e Marrone, that is for damn sure.
