Bottle, directly from brewery. Color: Very dark copper, going towards black, beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, hints of coffee. Taste: Roasted malt, fruity hints of coffee bean, earthy. Just over medium body, below average carbonation. Bit creamy mouthfeel. Floral hop backbone. Over moderate sweet, moderate to over moderate bitterness. Nice British Porter.

Handpull cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Light mahogany, slightly translucent with a large and slightly loose off-white head. Chocolate malt and touches of stone fruit in the surprisingly muted aroma. It's delicious though: a cherry sweetness persists in the initial taste, followed with some astringent but not over-heavy bitterness. The bitterness is pronounced in the long finish with some stone fruit. Soft carbonation. Nice.
