Draught at the Spread Eagle, Ipswich. Pours bright clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of biscuit, malt and fresh hop. Taste clean fresh hoppy flavour, with light biscuit sweet notes, and a light lasting bitterness.

Cask at the Old Nun’s Head - Nunhead, London. Pours clear gold with a frothy white head. The nose holds jammy citrus, light berries, pale bread. Medium sweet flavor with light minerality, rich bread, more jammy fruits, marmalade, light pine. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; fair condition. Moderately resinous on the finish, with light alcohol warmth, more sticky citrus. So so overall. A throw-back IPA.

Bright clear gold beer, untidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth with mild fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, mildly sweet, trace of cream. Hops start with a modestly bitter floralness. The mid brings mild pine, pith, citric fruits and a nice mild peach. Finishes smooth and semi dry. Mild bitter linger. Clean and pretty drinkable.

Cask @ Navigation Tavern Beer Festival, Mirfield. Potent and hoppy paler golden ale with a thick creamy-frothy head. It’s strength is evident with an understated tropical fruitiness that lingers in the palate.

Bottle from the Real Ale Shop, Wells next the Sea, Norfolk. Hazy, pale amber. A film and a few bubbles of white head. Hmm, tastes a lot like butterscotch. And presumably that isn’t intended? Not a lot else, bar a background, light hop. Taste is more of that, with a fair amount of bitterness. Dry, bitter finish. Not great. Shame. There’s probably a good beer in there.
