Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - dark brown to black with a decent amount of lacing. Nose - tonnes of peat and iodine. Taste - tonnes more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry smoky finish. Overall - another example of where a beer is completely smothered by the barrel it is put in.

Medium brown color. The nose is very hot with lots of whiskey, iodine notes. The mouth is medium body, fairly light body with tons of whiskey chocolate and slight roasted malt notes. Very malty. Not enough body for the whiskey.

Bottle shared during Jack’s farewell bevvies at Craft Clerks. Thanks to MannyG for this UK gear. Pours clearish red-brown with a creamy khaki head. Great nose, full of toffee, bread and figs. Medium sweet flavor, lightly boozy, with mellow syrupy ripe fruits, dates, more figs, toasted bread. Full in body with fine carbonation. Lightly chewy. Warming on the finish, with more ripe fruits, some boozy sting, berries, caramel. Nice work.

Farewell Jack bottleshare at Craft Clerkenwell. Thanks to Manny for this rarity. Light haze on this deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Mild esters and wood on the nose. Palate is light and fairly dry. Modest fine carbonation. Bitterish esters - Dentyne chewing gum. Mild spice. Thin dry malt cream. Dry finish. Spicy linger. Disappointing truth to be told but it’s okay.

Bottle big thanks to Padraig. It pours darkest brown with a sturdy, thick beige head. The nose is rich, sweet, juicy fruit cake, light menthol, spice, toffee, sewed apple and calvados. The taste is bitter-sweet, toasty, dry wood, earth, dried fruits, fruit cake, glazier cherry, tang, boozy hit, raw whisky, damp leaves and vanilla with a very drying finish. Fulsome body and average carbonation. A bit rough around the edges and very dry indeed.
