Bottle thanks to Dirty D at the 2016 Cotteridge Convention. It pours deep reddish mahogany brown with a decent beige head. The nose is rich and malt-driven, wood, vanilla, hot cross bun, vinous and dried berry. The taste is rich, vinous, dark fruits, fruit compote, oak, fruit cake, Victoria sponge, jammy strawberry and some bitterness with a dry, woody finish. Full body, fine carbonation and slick mouth-feel. Great depth of flavour and complexity, yet remains very drinkable. Tasty.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers to Daniel for this treat. Pours clear amber with a mellow, tan head. The nose holds tangy berries, wood, a little earth. Medium sweet flavour, highly vinous, with plenty of red grape, leather, earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Dry and oaky on the finish, tannic, with continuing rich, leathery berry character. Very nice stuff.

Bottle share at Ratebeer meet up, Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham Saturday 5th March 2016 Notes of whisky and wood, thick in the mouth with a lot of oomph... Fruity lots going on, dark brown in colour with a light beige head. Good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle from Old Shambles Tavern in York. Appearance - close to opaque black with a lovely cream yo fawn head. Nose - treacle and hobnobs. Hazelnuts coming through the finish. Taste - treacle and hazelnuts against. Like burnt praline. Some booze integrated well in there. Palate - medium bodied plus and a big tangy texture and a balanced sturdy finish. Overall - a really deeply indulgent and beautifully generous if gnarly beer.

750ml barrel-shaped bottle, wax seal nโall, thanks to Sir Ashton of McCobbingham. Pours opaque dark brown with a thin beige head. Big bubbles. Aromas of biscuit, honeycomb, treacle, deep dark fruits, like prunes or somesuch. Taste is honey, spice, treacle again, slightly woody. Thereโs a lot going on, as my brother might say.
