Tasting at Mr Smith’s Skyflat. Thanks to Leighton. Lightly hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has a fine minerally crispness. Light and thin malts, some lactose like sweetness. Thin orange. An evaporating alcohol dryness. Light dry finish. Clunky for sure, but just about passes muster.

Bottle thanks to LKS. It pours hazy bright gold with suspended particles and medium white head. The nose is sweet, estery, apple, pear drops, candy, brioche and icing sugar. The taste is crisp, initially bitter, orange peel, lemon rind, apple skin, pear, icing sugar and mild acidity. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Quite clean. Thankfully not as sweet as the aroma implies. Fair.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours cloudy gold with a creamy white head. Sweet doughy malts in the nose, a bit of yeast, tangerine. Light to medium sweet flavor with some tangy citrus fruits, more doughy wheat, lemon meringue, faint bitter straw. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, with yet more yeast, dough, lemon. Simple but tasty.

Bottle split at Chriso pre LKS towers, thanks to He, 07/01/15. Pale golden blonde with a moderate off white covering. Nose is light fart, lemon rind, yeast esters, bread dough, grain. Taste comprises lemon peel, straw, pale malt, pinch of spice, crackers, yeast. Medium bodied, prickly carbonation, semi drying close. So so affair, overcarbed Belgo stylee box ticking exercise.

Bottle from London Beer Lab. It’s a hazy golden-amber beer with a negligible white head and a lively sparkle. Up front there’s a little of the banana that I always associate with Belgian yeast, and some Leffè-like honey roast ham. So far so Belgian, but suddenly there’s a burst of spring meadow freshness- grass, flowers and herbs- and the beer comes to life, becoming surprisingly vibrant. It finishes with rather sweet and sticky lemon sherbet and some light dryness. An interesting take on the style; I rather enjoyed it.
