Cask-conditioned at Nettle & Rye, Bristol 16/2/2016. Deep gold in colour, with a tight, white, head. Citrus hops, slightly spicy malts, biscuity sweetness before a decent, bitter, finish. Good.

Cask halfpint at Wetherspoons, London Victoria Station. Deep golden colour, low and coarse head. Moderate hoppy aroma. Quite bitter flavour, but not so much hop flavour besides the bitterness, and the malts do not stand up to it. Not bad, but one-dimensional.

Cask at The Milan Bar, Croydon. It pours clear amber with a thick, off-white head. The nose is fresh, toasted brown bread, spice, pine, grapefruit, stewed orange and earth. The taste is bitter, spice, rye bread, earthy, pine, varnish, grapefruit, orange peel and peppery spice with a lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A nice, hopped - up cask ale. Sort of like an American - hopped bitter.
