BrewDog #Collabfest 2015: Last year we thought our annual festival of UK brewing collaboration couldn’t get any bigger. And now here we are, twelve months later and #Collabfest is set to return for a third year running – bigger and better than ever.

Embrace the creativity and ingenuity of #Collabfest! In case you’re new here – each year we hook up our amazing UK bar teams with a local craft brewery and give them a blank brewsheet. What results is up to the newly-fledged partnership...

BrewDog Cardiff and Crafty Devil teamed up to produce Kenya Kick It? A 6.2% black coffee IPA with cascara berries.

Keg at Brewdog, Sheffield, Saturday 7th November 2015. Black in colour with a light tan head, soft mouthfeel. Crikey there is lots and lots of coffee in here, wow! it does however integrate really well with the nice juicy fresh hoppiness. Mmhhh... the coffee is lovely in this beer, some might suggest overdone but I wouldn’t, I love it. I have had just two beers from this brewery both I have given a 4.0 to. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

2nd November 2015
Brewdog Shepherds Bush. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, trace of cream. Very mild coffee. Little spice before a fairly dry and crisp finish. Decent but doesn’t seem particularly CDA like.

Keg at Bad CJ. It pours opaque black with a small tan head. The nose is rich, decent roast, coffee, dark fruits, plum, rocky road and smores. The taste is bitter, charred wood, earthy, cacoa, burnt wood, mild acidity, umami, dark fruits and earth with quite a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps too dry and charred. Flavorsome anyways. Not bad at all.

Keg at BrewDog Shoreditch - London. Pours black-brown with a beige cream head. The nose holds coffee grounds, burnt pine, flinty minerals. Light-medium sweet flavor with burnt toast, faint cocoa, more burnt but still lightly oily pine, orange. Medium bodied with average carboantion. Lightly resinous to close, more bitter burnt pine, baking cocoa. Pretty nice.
