Clear deep red - amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Thinnish dark malts, smooth but with a fair dose of roasty bitterness. Touches of coffee and tangy fruits. Floral bitterness builds towards and through the light finish. Some chocolate in the aftertaste and a long and fairly harsh bitter linger. Robust for it’s abv.

Bottle shared at the Cotteridge Convention - 2016 edition. Cheers! Pours clear red-brown with a frothy, off-white head. Toasty malts in the nose, light tangy fruits. Moderately sweet, with light char, cocoa, leathery fruits. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Drying on the finish, with further tangy berries and bittersweet cocoa. Just about OK.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell, London, 24 Nov 2015) Dark reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark rye bread and chocolate. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark rye bread, dark chocolate, toasted oatmeal and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made. Nice one.
