A Belgian blonde brewed with Angus from the Wapping Brewery using a monastic Trappist yeast he brought back to Liverpool in a vintage mini. An odyssey indeed.

42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to Dan. Almost clear gold beer, tiny white head. Palate is light and semi dry with mild fine carbonation. Light and semi sweet pale malts. Touch of something savoury and a little spice. Mild pine. Citric peel bitterness, well buried. Light finish. Slightly odd but tasty enough.

Bottle. Pale amber. Light haze. Skim of sticky, white head. Nose has honeyed, toasty malts. Fruity esters. Taste is surprisingly bitter. Hint of sweet poking through. Light body. Good fizz level. Finishes mostly bitter, with a soft, bready sweetness. If I didn’t know otherwise, I’d have said this was a bretted IPA or something. Whatever, I liked it.

Bottle at the sky high Canary wharf tasting. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. Hazed orange golden coloured pour with a halo of off white head. Aroma is pollen, floral hop, honey, apple. Flavour is composed of honey, light grainy, little lemon. Pretty well put together. Assertive mostly clean hop. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, ok.

Bottle thanks to Daniel. Consumed at the 42nd floor tasting. It pours hazy gold with a decent white head. The nose is toasty, biscuit, doughy bread, soft sweet citrus and apricot. The taste is smooth, toasty grains, cereal, bready malts, straw and orange citrus. medium body and moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot to it, but it is smooth and very well-rounded. Decent.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Daniel. Pours yellow-gold with a creamy white head. The nose has slight lemony notes, a bit of wheat. Light to medium sweet flavor, more wheat bread, light lemony tang, pale cereal, some bitter grain husk. Light bodied with average carbonation. Bitter finish, more bitter husky grains, wheat, hay. Fine.
