Belgian Half Quad
Brewed with Three Floyds
When Three Floyds comes knocking at your door with a half barrel of Alpha King asking to do another collaboration... you say yes. This time around we brewed as standard strength Belgian style Quad with D2 sugar and some yeast the Floyds stole from Belgium.
Availability: Draft, Late Summer 2013

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014. Session 4. Pours dark brown with a creamy, tan head. Dark bread, light Belgian yeast, burnt sugars. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Balanced finish, with nice dark bread, light roast, further Belgian yeast notes. Good one.

A black beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, fruit, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and dried fruits, leading to a dry roasted finish.

12oz tulip at City Taphouse. Pours a deep mahogany brown with a ring of beige head. Nose has a lot of chocolate, raw cocoa nib, bread crust, earthy, a little soil, a little raisin, some chalk. Flavor is malty, gristy, chocolate, some dried fruit, but just sweet. Reminded me more of a stout. Chalky finish.
