A smooth malty red ale made up of a blend of six malts to give it a unique sweet liquorice taste and a soft fruity finish. With numerous awards to its name but the finest to date is SIBA's Overall Champion Cask Ale 2018.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a very dark ruby colour with a huge thick foamy beige head. Aromas of dark fruits, berries, caramel, toasty brown bread and some nuts. Taste has more dark fruity notes, caramel, toasted malts, brown bread and nuts. Added notes of chocolate. A touch of sweetness and slight roasty burnt notes on the finish. Nicely balanced. Another decent beer i have tried from this good Brewery.

Cask handpull at Opera House JDW Tunbridge Wells. Clear dark brown colour. Thin head. Some malt some dark fruits. A proper old fashioned dark ale. Good for an autumnal evening. Juicy rather than dry. Malty. Not much hop. A little hedgerow character. Rosehip etc. OK.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 11/10/2018. Deep brown in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Sweet, caramel, dominated beer, with some chewy malts, berry fruits and leafy hops, before a moderately bitter finish. So so.
