Bottle at Islington tasting, thanks to Andre via Scopey, as Pique Nique Rye in a 75cl, 07/07/16. Hazed orange with an off White head. Nose is floral, lemon rind, melon, straw, funky vibes. Taste comprises lemon peel, yeast esters, light peppery spice, toaster grain, light bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Nice refreshing saison .

Big Bottle share at Craft Islington. Thanks to Paul. Hazy pale gold beer. Decent pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Soft malts. Perfumey floralness. Some rye tang. Tangy fruits - mild. Dry perfumey finish. A little out there.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Co. Islington - big thanks to that man Andre, and our trusty steward Scoopey. Pours lightly hazy yellow with a white, creamy topping. Lightly funky in the nose, with touches of manure, grass, hay. Light sweet flavour with nips of lemon, pale bread, melon, rindy citrus, old barn. Light bodied with average carbonation and smooth texture. Crisp and lightly tangy in the finish, with more melon, grapefruit, farmy funk. Good saison.

Bottle as Passarola Pique-nique Series: Rye Saison shared at the Craft Islington. Thanks for the bottle Andre! It pours hazy bright gold with a thick white head. The aroma is fresh, bready, banana, lemon rind, spice, orange Tango, Irn Bru, apricot and ginger. The taste is crisp, bitter, firm dryness, cracker, spice, white bread, straw, barnyard, grassy, white grape skin, gooseberry and wood with a dry finish. I really like the balance. Good depth and high drinkable. A classy saison.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 25B - standard). Bottle 75 cl - Batch L167SP. AROMA: predominant wild yeast fermentation notes (barnyard, horse blanket). slight acidic/tartaric note. Slight malty and peppery background. APPEARANCE: golden color and hazy. excessive foam, of white color, with medium-low to low retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with wild yeast fermentation notes. light cereal hull and yeast flavor. very low malt presence on the background. medium-high bitterness with a dry finish and slightly astringent. PALATE: light body with high carbonation that vanishes quickly. slight astringency and heat sensation. OVERALL: a problematic saison batch that demands re-tasting.

Bottle at RB London Meet as "Rye Saison". Hazy yellow color, small white head. Strong farmhouse in the nose with saison yeast spiceyness. Medium-bodied. Citric front, spicey - white pepper, peachy, with lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Interesting.
