A very smooth well balanced stout. The fine blend of speciality malts used gives this beer a fantastic malty aroma, with a slight dry finish.

Bottleshare at Lancaster Gate. Thanks to Dan. Gusher. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is over carbonated airy. Mellow dark malts, trace of dark chocooate. Tangy dark fruits. Bitterish floralness. Light dry finish. Not bad apart from the over carbonation.

Bottle shared in W2 - thanks to Daniel. Gusher! Pours brown with a frothy tan head. Tangy dark malts on the nose, burnt grains, leathery berries. Light sweet flavor with rounded ripe, lightly tangy berry character, leather, earth. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with semi-dark malts, more tangy and leathery berries. Really, not that bad.

Cask at Reading BF. Black with aa loose light brown head. Very smooth. Chocolate, plenty of smoke and roasty malts but perfectly balanced and incredibly drinkable. On my first sip I predicted this would be my beer of the festival and I was proved right. So impressed that I straight away tried one of their other beers but unfortunately their Old Cadger was not of anywhere near the same standard. C’est la Vie.

50cl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. An opaque mahogany colour with a ring of cream head; aroma of coffee and chocolate; milky texture with coffee and chocolate flavours to start, then some really bitter dark roasted malts; before a softer toasty, chocolatey finish. A decent stout, rather on the sweet side.
